Bought this at the flea market the other day for like an orange and a half wondering if it's still got the juice and YEAH IT DOES.

People think red room is the best song? That’s cute
|

It’s a better pick than stone and lavender tho, in which case why the fuck are you even listening to hiatus kaiyote lmao

I mean, the 90's RnB influences are more distinct on this album than on their previous stuff and the general warmth of the production and intimate nature add to it. I guess i could see a bunch of millenials get into some of these songs.

I’m preeeettttttyyyy sure the majority of their fanbase is millennials

Maybe a few elder centennials

Hell yeah to the 92' club.
I didn't know that Bender, their bassist, has released two other LPs under his name. The recent one being a more singer-songwriter type from about 2 months ago. The other one is a parody rap album called "Middle Aged Caucasian Existential Debut Rap Record" that includes burping and an artwork which is.. a statement.

"How To Forget" does have stellar production though, very similar to this album.
Now just look at that character: https://f4.bcbits.com/img/a2133996219_10.jpg

Like i said, the album is taking another step towards adapting a contemporary sound design as viewed by the western world, though i'd never go so far as to describe any Kaiyote song as generic. This and CYW share an inherently different state of inner balance plus Nai's leaning into all these tropes and she's performing so magnificently.
