I've found they're lacking in the hook department and just generally less uh internally diverse? (sorry it's early) than the best stuff on here. Obviously reserving judgement, just hoping there's some more distinctive moments

Oh I agree as a whole this is more diverse and instrumentally creative. But I still really enjoy him settling into his groove. I’ll be curious to see if there’s any more experimental cuts on the album because that’s where this really shines

He leans into the post punk and neo soul vibes but it’s all very live band accompanied. I could see it being a grower for sure. Definitely like this one more but there’s some bops on it for sure
