The songwriting here is so mediocre. They just aren't good at this style that they're ripping off.

"Turnover is sat somewhere in a corner trying to be as boring as humanly possible"

This, this and more of this.

i love this album and band. i think this is their second best after Youth. songwriting is great IMO and doesn't feel like a direct ripoff of any band, more like a jumble of styles, Blue Sunday and Black and Red are my favorites.

i loved As You Please but really digging the more upbeat vibe of this. i feel like everyone slagged Youth for being too derivative and this is the first time the band is really doing their own thing, hope for more success for them, they are awesome.

I love the music but I find every one of their album covers atrocious, save for "As you please" because it reminds me of a blanket I used to have as a kid

Completely missed this album but what a dud. First song was so promising but rest of this sounds like their best impression of a killers album whyyy don’t they use more distorted guitars. Also almost every song is the same tempo hard to get thru but 2-3 keepers I guess

Digging the production on this (I'm only on the first track heh). Good sounding.

Compared to the edge they had on Youth and the post rock tinges on their last one, this just sounds safely up the middle to me. Honestly sounds good production wise but not a fan of the songwriting here

Yeah it doesn’t do much for me. Would love for them to return to the As You Please sound.

Just sounds like a blander continuation of this album's sound. I do like the music vid tho, very 2000's

Also love the album art

“Would love for them to return to the As You Please sound. “

Absolutely this. I loved that one from the moment i heard it and still do. Kerekes’ Luna coming out the year before also felt like an awesome accompaniment and i love that one too

God, i fucking love oatmeal. Bit of added sugar and some cinnamon, scoop that shit with some buttered toast. Could eat a whole loaf in one sitting that way 🍞
