"Any favorites?"
Faint Repeater and Antlers in Velvet are my absolute favorites. But overall, the album really doesn't miss for me in any of the songs, I love them all

Feel the same way. This is remarkably consistent and consistently superb. It's exactly how I felt about Honey Harper in 2020, except the countrydelic version rather than "cosmic dream country".

I feel the Honey Harper was more of a new style/hybrid where this is a tweak of a 'classic' style that still feels quite traditional
I like it a lot though, gearing up for today's listen now actually

They're different for sure, I think they both took the same thing and laced it with differing genres. Harper fused country with dream pop/folk and these guys fused country with psychedelic/ progressive. That might be an oversimplification however.

"This is remarkably consistent and consistently superb." Absolutely, it's currently rivaling what has been my AOTY contender for the last month or so, it just keeps growing and growing

I've see the Pink Floyd comparisons thrown around but personally I'm really getting some Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young vibes here, mostly in the vocal harmonies

First thing I thought of too Atari. I get rootsy vibes, but hey, everyone is enjoying it I won't quibble.

Ooh that's actually a superb observation Atari. You're absolutely right about the Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young vibes. I can totally hear it now.

Sweet, I’m glad I’m not the only one that hears that!
Landing on a 4 for now. Not quite as obsessed as you but a quality album without a doubt. I find it very comforting

Its great in the background at work, lots of harmonies and leads shining though...not as good as the Arab Strap album though

Ah I knew there was a classic influence in there I was missing and it wasn’t quite Creedence Clearwater Revival or the Allman Brothers - CSNY could be it

Never heard of these guys until I read the review, definitely worth the listen, digging it.
Sounds like Ben Ottewell from Gomez went and took LSD, listened to Pink Floyd records and decided to make a country album.

I mean anything that has ‘country rock’ as a descriptor is going to have a Neil Young influence one way or another
Whether that’s CSNY or Crazy Horse or solo

Haha yup. This is so much more than pleasant background music. I can see why it would start like that for some people but this grows like crazy.
