Skimmed it. This really has no reason to exist.

I was ready to write this off and even made a few comments mocking this based simply on the idea of an uncreative metalcore band making an all-ambient LP, but...this...is stunning? WTF? I feel like I'm floating.

Like I said it’s good. Overreaction of the year by far.

Right; I mean ambient is far from my wheelhouse - and it's always possible that the mood simply caught me right (I'm listening to this fairly late at night, I can see the stars from my bedroom window, etc.) - but I can't help but feel like this would have a higher average if Trent Reznor released it. This is minimum 3.5 for me with an even higher ceiling.

This review like a forest showing up on a topographic map for all the shade it's throwing lol sick write-up, nothing but quotables

Sowing I promise you this is incredibly mid ambient
You are correct that people would like it more if it was by NIN though

it's not bad, it's got some cool moments and ideas. it just really doesn't do much with them at all

That summary lol.

yeah, this is not offensively *bad* but it's vacuous nothing-music that conflates empty space with a discernable atmosphere. it's short enough of distinctive qualities and, tbh, anything at all that whatever you project onto it will probs stand. you wanna call this good ambient and use it as a mood catalyst? nothing here's gonna actively resist that. wanna pretend it's the worst thing ever? well, uh, these tracks are too uncountoured and limp to tell you you're wrong
tl;dr sucks. very expressive
