Also "Latte Indie" is such an accurate depiction of that sort of music that it should almost be a subgenre

Latte Indie reminds me of the time I went to Starbucks and they gave out a iTunes free single (Open by Rhye fact check me) and sowing isn't wrong

This album is dreadfully boring

Sampling Eye in the Sky is not fair, you read me!? IT'S NOT FAIR!!

And yeah I am loving this, fuck, I hate to admit when you guys are right
|

Whenever I jam this it's a great trip, but the song that sticks in my head is always We Go On, which is annoying af and kinda sucks so I always remember the album as worse than it is :/

I've been looping "the sun in your eyes, made all of the lies worth" the whole freaking morning.

its not even up for dispute that Running Red Lights is the most soyboy track here. it has the king of all soyboys on it
|
| |
a good point well made, but there's still a steep soy quotient between that top 2

i found this to be a huge step down from their first two albums. the amount of pointless interludes and featured artists was so pretentious and self-indulgent and made this pretty unlistenable after 24 tracks (and then the final song just felt like a slap in the face for sitting through it).
at least the mgmt collab is pretty great

'pretentious' and 'self-indulgent' have to be the weirdest criticisms I've seen for this yet

All their albums have a tonne of interludes, wtf y'all on about
They're less than a minute too in most cases, it's not like they bloat the album

This is so much better than Wildflower. I really wasn't expecting it to be this good. It's tough having a classic like SILY as your debut and always having comparisons to that, but this is a legit great album on it's own.
Really consistent too, never really loses steam and seems like I've had a different favourite track every listen.

The mood and atmosphere of this is very different to that of SILY. IMO, regardless of how good this or SILY is, it's not a fair comparison

Yeah I can't imagine thinking wildflower is better than this. There are like 10 tracks in the middle of that album that just aren't that good. Noisy eater, zap, wildflower, live a lifetime love, park music, livin underwater, wozard of iz, over the turnstiles - like this entire section of the album just gets annihilated by any track on we will always love you. Wildflower also feels rly aimless in retrospect when comparing it to this. Feels far more filler-y than this by a huge margin. The interludes on this are actually catchy and good too, minus the like 10 second ones
