@Dimsim, will Japan get their shit together for shipping internationally already? wtf. Tower Records has World Shopping baked into it, which is a proxy, so I just used that. Gonna end up paying close to $100 for this in the end when the international shipping gets tallied in. Ichiko better appreciate all this damn money I'm spending to get her records :|

Yo, don't use WorldShopping. It's a shame that they're advertised on some sites like Tower because they're so much more expensive than other proxies. Go with Zenmarket in future; significantly cheaper.

Hey, Amazon Japan and HMV both had full support for international shipping before COVID. The only reason they've rolled back their international service a bit is because of COVID.
Also, even if more Japanese stores shipped internationally, you wouldn't be saving that much more money. The bulk of the cost on your proxy order is the international shipping cost, which is the same whether or not you use a proxy. The other fees involved in a proxy order are service fee (300 yen with Zenmarket) and domestic shipping fee (220 yen with Tower). So that's about $5 you'd save if you didn't have to use a proxy. Yeah it'd be nice if we could save that $5, but it's hardly a prohibitive cost, nor does it warrant much fuss imo. (protip: definitely order from Amazon Japan in future if you can because their intl shipping fee is just $15 and they ship with DHL Express so it'll arrive at your door in like 3 days)
Worth mentioning that having to use proxies actually works out better for me because I buy so much shit from Japan that getting the proxy to pack all my items together into one parcel is cheaper than getting me to pay for like 10 different parcels coming from 10 different sellers in Japan.

this is potentially more of a grower than 0, though still not nearly as good hmm

is 0 a grower at all? That album clicks on the first listen. For this though, I had to listen to it 5 times to give it a rating. But then, I couldn't stop listening to it.

0 is defs a grower, partially bc the best bits are sparse in a way that invites closer attention, but mainly bc it's got that quality a lot of great albums do where it's evocative enough to soak up and (uh) grow off as many experiences and associations as you throw at it, only getting better over time
this is a different kinda of grower though, maybe more traditionally so - depends on you latching onto its specific mood more than filling in half of ichiko's canvas like (most of) her other albs

Yeah, that could be true about 0, but at the same time, it's kinda hard to grow a 5/5 album.
