ahhh an s90 I was thinking of an xc90 my little bro just got one its a 2017 or something and my aunt sold it to him. she wanted like 20k a few years ago and it depreciated into nothingness and she basically just gave it to him. Volvo was cool when they still used diesel tractor engines in the 80s and part of the 90s. they outsource a lot of their components from china like Chrysler and their transmission are poopoo as a result.

I think Geely owns them iirc, which is Polestar and Lotus now too.

I bailed halfway through but just cause I wasn't in the mood.

I'll try again this weekend.

Honestly I don't think aiming for uninterrupted listening for a full hour is the best approach for this album. Just warming to each song as its own thing is doing far more for me. Takes less concentration haha

"Aesop Rock is the type of dude to give you in depth explanations of the Dark Souls lore when you’re just tryna chill and play the game"

I prefer a lore master over a git gud boi. Album is consistently badass and doesn't feel bloated or too long imo, but yeah album can be enjoyed in small doses, on shuffle, etc

yeah Aes was said on an Instagram Q&A before the release that he didn't intend for it to be a "full album" experience. He basically said to pick your favorite tracks and curate the album to fit your tastes. Lucky for me I dig every single song here

I mean I listen to post-metal so that's not the issue. It's just that I was not in the right headspace for it when I made my first attempt.

It's a build ur own album experience except I'm too pretentious to not make it simeutaneously a concept album which is ruined when you build it yourself

Choose your adventure!

Turn to track 11 or 7

Considering there's no cohesion between tracks, I wouldn't say it's ruined if you were to build your own version. Reminds me of the bootlegs of Smile and how it was considered an "interactive" album that people would piece together and sequence in their own way.

The idea of a choose-your-own-adventure concept album actually sounds kinda dope

But yeah the "curate the track list yourself" shit is a total cop-out, like jfc have some faith in your own material why don't you
