I tried and failed once again, this just isn’t really my ‘sound’. I guess some of it is err... ‘pleasant’ (rubbish descriptor) but it doesn’t take me to those magical places I feel it potentially might (for some of you).

It’s about having a pulse demo mate.
The ‘pulse’ of this record definitely weaves into the rhythm of the heart but nevermind.

Good lad. Darren Emerson era Underworld 90s to 2001 is some of the greatest electronic music ever recorded it really is. This and Second Toughest in the Infants are absolutely essential and the remaining albums are all worthy of your time. Barking is a bit shite.
I tell you something though, I’ve recently listened to the last album and it’s borderline spectacular as well.

Haha zak!
Glad you gave it a go, I just knew an Underworld veteran such as yourself would find it a lovely album. I sincerely feel they've found some of their old magic again. Not that their previous records sucked (although Barking was their low point, yes), but it is just on such a higher level once again.

I didn't find this album nearly as good as the next 3 actual masterpieces that came after it, but it still rules :]

100 days off?
Other than a couple of classics that one is also a disappointment.
Trif is right, the old magic returns on Drift.

Agreed Leviticus, Beaucoup Fish and A Hundred Days Off are very underrated. And Second Toughest is another classic for sure.

I know 100 days off is flawed but I love it

True, Barbara Barbara is very good. I really like Oblivion With Bells as well, some great moments on there.
The only let-down for me is Barking, which I still at least enjoy.
