The Healer is their most ambitious yet, I'd say. Absolutely feral in some parts, especially on The Stone's Turn, god damn. Some pretty extensive drone sections, but I like how they're incorporated here.
I'm thoroughly melted after one focused listen

This is great to hear, is there a ton of loose improv sections or do the lengths of the tracks really stem from drone?

New album has been a nice challenge so far, I will see where it lands when I give it a down or so run throughs. Im a little bummed that Yellow Dawn is the only "song" on here though
|

I would listen to it again because calling Yellow Dawn the only “song” is kinda crazy lol. It’s even better the second time for me

The second half of Yellow Dawn absolutely fucking rips. Hot damn. Some of the vocals across the album are weirdly terrible though

Amazing how quickly the album goes by. I fuckin love Sumac 😭

I get the intent was to be off putting and uncomfortable but that weird growl that ends in a falsetto yelp on the opener is so yucky
