Is it just me or is the, hrm, “chorus” of the short version of “ondioline” kinda like that of “lose my breath”

The kinda feeling of suspension

I rly like the song “super-electric” too

Super-electric is awesome and I wish it'd been on Peng, defs one of their best early trax
"washing machine at a laundromat"
this record samples interference and playback sounds associated with household vinyl apparatus it may have been before your time

much like the members of stereolab (i think) and potentially other people also, i grew up with a dad and caught many things including vinyl static from him
i will say that this is one of those albs that you kinda do *need* to hear on phys (in whichever format) to get the full benefit - all those tapeskips, scuffs and incorporated playback glitches land in a completely different way than on ultraclean soulless digital; lots of lil cute psych moments where you think your disc is fucked, as though the band are taking affectionate digs at their own medium. brecht but cool

Is it sacrilege to not bury vocals in shoegaze

Upon first listen:

Deff good stuff on here, but not nearly as good as Dots and Loops

I have a weird feeling I should've listened to ETK as my Dots and Loops follow-up but hey this one's trendy on Sput so

Kinda wish more of the album was like Pack Yr Romantic Mind, that one's like a 11/10

Will give this more listens of course

Yeah romantic mind is amazing. Every song on here is better than Dots and Loops tho

Dots and Loops is probably more consistent and this probably peaks harder, but they don't really bear comparing
