Felt no regrets slapping a four on this. Could be looking at a top 20 spot by the year's end.

Album's a bit overlong in parts but the production fits really well and accentuates the mood. Must admit that being a National fan, it was Aaron Dessner writing credits that got me to listen to the whole thing and it was worthwhile I guess.

lorde is the business for sure, but that track somehow has too many of her antonoffisms in it despite having no direct involvement with him
this is p decent, not really sure what to rate it (a good sign ig?)

Myrkur did it better, this move almost feels like she's following Myrkur.

Lol, yeah I had the same thought as Gyro pretty much. Thought the quality difference between those first 2 tracks was pretty noticeable

Lol in all honesty I find myself think "this is nice" a lot. Like with my tears ricochet, and mirrorball. The Bon Iver song is just downright bad. Mostly this is just business as usua it sounds like but it's at least 50 thousand times.better than her last album

"some coffeeshop maroon 5 shit"

See this is cardigan for me. So rote, it's as if it could have been pumped out by some generic pop song generator. First song has an intimacy to it and the piano goes down smooth with those subtle strings. Way less your typical T Swift. In fact it sounds nothing remotely like Maroon 5 to me lmao

The 1’s lyrics are pretty cringe. Cardigan is great.
