I loved Torche's sound, had some issues with the overly simplistic songwriting...they sure teach Baroness how to produce rocksludge though ahah...lets see how this sits...enjoying so far.

@Johnny

Checked it out yesterday and been jamming a lot since. Really nice progression of their sound, it's a lot more mellow though.

I think Hopesfall is my favourite comeback in recent memory beside this.

I’d like to think Hum listened to Arbiter and knew they could beef up their sound too

Well they got the fuzz right and thick, just how you re supposed when you want to display sludge riffs...instead of making a screechy mess, just because you have a pair of blasbeats. TKS for pushing me hard.

you’re welcome, comparing them when their approaches are real different. just cuz they’re contemporaries, toured together, and get thrown into similar genres doesn’t mean I’m gonna let u get away with that huuuge reach

sure one is very proggy and the other does one tune per song...yet that Baroness would benefit with Torche's production features...its just something I feel. I'm no production nerd, I just want to have a nice time with the music :D

Its Admission's only flaw, if you want to see it as such.

what do you even mean by “one tune”

also if that’s all you checked by them you should totally peep Meanderthal too

yap the only one eheh I met them there. Any other you consider a must?

One tune, one riff per song...that's at least how felt after a fair amount of listens...I think there's one song there that shows how it can be cool to apply some changes, without being prog...

yea you do know that tunes and riffs are not related... and they definitely use more than one riff, except on the second track which is one riff lol

Meanderthal and Harmonicraft I’d recommend. Admission is them at their sludgiest, the others too but they have more uptempo tracks.

tunes and riffs are not related...

They are in the end.

Will check those, since I initially thought you were calling me Meanderthal.

Step Into You is really cool here.

that I know...philosophy then...there are tunes that don’t use riffs, riffs produce tunes, therefore riffs are tunes.

The Summoning got me right...great stuff
