I do think Invent Animate's latest is much better than this but this grew on me too. Kill the Ache should definitely be a single.

Giving this another shot. Hopefully it's better than I remember lol. Not that I thought this was bad, just definitely a clear step down from the last one.

i think the biggest issue i have with this record is that it really was a step down from the previous EP's songwriting ability.

went into this record expecting revolutionary changes like the EP brought. is really just a duplicate of their other album.

didnt grab me at first bc of that, but upon a proper relisten its very good for what it is.

"went into this record expecting revolutionary changes like the EP brought. is really just a duplicate of their other album."

it's not though?

it carries over the emphasis on atmosphere and the increased used of clean singing that the EP had. this sounds way more like it than the debut.

Eh I like everything they've done. I think Poverty of Self, Origin, and Second Skin is as good or better than anything off the EP though. Only into despair and the rope are standouts for me anyways.

I dunno if the songwriting took any sort of step back on here, just a bit of a stylistic difference. Way more focused on ambience and tone.

Also i love the outro to let me leave so much.

Also I'm confused. This and the first Album are definitely not duplicates. That one is way more faster progcore focused and this one focuses a lot more on ambiance and tone. Not really sure what was so "revolutionary" about the EP either lol.

I had fun with this today but not enough to bump it. The Place I Feel Safest is miles better than this imo.

the EP just feels like real songs to me. this record seems more like chugga metalcore formulaic. idk.

also, debut's 'im not waiting' is amazing. this record still sounds like the debut IMO.

It really is a grower. I was disappointed with this at first. The instrumental version of this album comes out April 20th

Also, the best part of the album is the ending of Monsters into Kill the Ache. That's their latest music video, I called it!
