Suddenly all that goodwill they had about their comeback is gone.

That's fucking ridiculous

I think the band themselves is vastly overreacting to something that wasn't even necessarily harmful, just immature more than anything.

If this was to save face this might've done more harm to their public image tbh

Good review would of liked you to talk about the actual album a bit more and the songs but I see where your coming from. So glad these guys are back.

PS

Unfortunate to hear about Jim Riley today.

I lost so much respect for them sacking their bassist over something blown out of proportion. Giving people second chances is part of being progressive not sure they understand this. Ironic how the person that took offence was both abusive and history of homophobic slurs.

This is pretty good but the cleans are genericore bs. I literally had to skip One Choice, that chorus.. ugh

“I won’t bend I won’t break”
Did they pick their lyrics from a catalogue

Rashod has never been anything but rad to me personally, can’t speak for other people, but watching that dude getting the boot was very entertaining.

"their bass player is racist"

can you link proof of that? because i sincerely haven't heard anything but the kindest things about these guys and i want to know if there's actually some fucked up shit about them that i haven't heard about

also i agree that this album is definitely "genericore" but honestly, having been out of that scene for a couple of years, listening to this brought back some great memories, and even if there were certain tropes clearly present, i still think they executed this album phenomenally. especially compared to their other work (Dear Youth is the only album of their's from the last decade that i enjoy parts of, but their first couple albums have some great moments as well!)
