For some reason, I'm finding not so great vocals kinda comforting atm. Not fully sure why. Maybe it's the repudiation of perfectionism and the embrace of ordinary messiness. Makes the vocals quite relatable. Feel the same way about this year's Intronaut.

Received my physical copy today, and what a difference it makes. With proper dynamics, the songs are so much more engaging. Still, this pales in comparison to Reflections of a Floating World. Can't help feeling slightly underwhelmed.

I enjoy this on streaming tho...

Although my exp improved when I set this on speakers, as I said on prev page, instead of earphones of some kind...

Curious where they might go with their possible next album, this sounds very much like Elder yet so different. Proggy, lush and beautiful such a contrast to their early albums. Everybody is hanged up on the vocals, but honestly I'm fine with them.

Omair this is probably the best place to start for you, older stuff is a little less proggy. Their previous record is my favourite though.

Cooo thanks Pete. I checked a bit of one of the singles and it sounded a bit heavy if I remember properly. Sounded good, but I'm in a jazz fusion mood, so will check it when the mood shifts, which is inevitable haha

If jazz fusion is what you're feeling go check the new Intronaut record then come back to this.

Hey Zig! Nice you went for this. Lore is a modern prog/rock classic, I'm sure you ll find it even more interesting.
