Oh for sure. Best power metal I've heard in a hot minute. New Lor from this year is also worth a check, if you haven't.

I'm ok with power metal, but if the "power" is too overwhelming that's where you lose me.
This one's seasoned with just the right amount of "power" for my taste haha.
Thanks for the rec I'll look into it

That one is definitely more power I believe than this one, but it also dips into progressive territory.
Funnily enough, it's an excellent album in the same genre that's also marred by production issues to an extent lol. The parallels don't write themselves.

I'm definitely on board with the whole "Persefone with structure and better vocals" thing. This is pretty lit if not always my thing.
Quite love some of the melodic choruses in particular.

But that was the worst take of the review

"And yeah, given a fresh coat of paint, these guys could truly shine."
idk, I think their production is pretty solid already. I think my main wish for their next album is more moments where the aggression and melodies blend, like the simultaneous growls/cleans on Geistesblitz. They're very good at having intense bits and melodic bits in the same song and flowing back and forth, but sometimes you just need that unity.

I think I like the screams a bit more in Persefone but the singing is way better on this. And the lack of structure in Persefone I have trouble with in general. I find the production to be perfectly fine too, perfect blend between polished and raw.

Same as earlier, I really think y'all are underrating how good Persefone are at songwriting. Especially on their highlights such as Aathma and Core, with Core being the clearest example.
@Project I am also not as critical in the production, but I must admit that, for the most part, the bass is tossed into a void.

Speaking of, I plan to give them another shot soon, as well as Ne Oblica(whatever), been a while and Im hoping my opinion has changed.
Production wise, they do well with what they have so im definitely nitpicking, but I can tell this is more of on the lower budget. Guitars (mainly distortion, acoustics sound amazing), vocals, drums, and yeah bass could all sound better.
Mars, both our avi's seem to have the same thing in their sights.

Well if you do, hopefully you see the light!
Dark hair, sunglasses, staring off dramatically in the distance on the left-hand side (their right-hand side), the parallels just don't write themselves

Thats one of my fav albums ever by the way, might want to check. Could be your thing.

"Imagine if Persefone actually had decent vocalists"
hard to imagine.

Never a time like the present brother. Very easy to get into a routine if you ease into it.

Yeah, I used to go to the gym pretty consistently. I'm in Tokyo and my local gyms are super cramped and with corona and all that I'm not exactly excited to go back.
