others been talking like he was muted by the others when he could’ve not wanted to flex the tones as he should’ve

yeah i agree it's mostly song writing but i still suspect the producer (not the band) might have something to do with it. i do hope joe gets crazier on whatever they'll release next. the keys are a nice addition but i think they lost a little bit of what made them so unique with this one.

Yeah it sounded to me like a production criticism more than anything

Rudiger is a monster but Danny's drumming is irreplaceable, truly amazing.

The guitar breakdowns in the middle of some of these songs, like Contrapasso and Check your Misfortune are so fucking tasty. Very Post-Metal. Definitely not digging the vocals, especially the harshes which are far weaker than they were on Direction.

Idk, I kinda dig this. Heard their old stuff long time ago, but can't remember anything than being really similar to Mastodon (which still is at times, but less me thinks).

never listened to these guys before but the album art piqued my interest. the single "Cubensis" didn't enthuse me all that much, but the full album is def. cool with some crushing riffs and great fluidity going on with these songs. really love "Pangloss" and "Sour Everythings" and I look forward to getting more acquainted with this thing.

I love The Cull, Check Your Misfortune, and Pangloss a lot. Those groovy post rock parts rule.

On first listen I like this about as much as Void. The energy is there, but the rhythm section has taken a step back as some have said. The Cull, Contrapasso, and Check Your Misfortune are my favorites.

Feeling this is so very overrated at the moment.

All your whining makes me wanna check out past material these guys did, TDoLT was cool but the production felt very flat, haven't checked out anything else by these guys. Will check that dinosaurus record they did

Where's my beautiful fretless bass ? I feel it was about the most enjoyable aspect of the earlier albums and i feel it's nearly gone here.

Listened to the album twice, but i don't see myself coming back to it.

Just got into these guys yesterday. They remind me of if Mastodon had intercourse with Animals As Leaders.

Direction of Last Things is so much better than this, but I particularly enjoyed most of what they offered here. Especially Cubensis.
