Ngl this album is fantastic front to back. Tomorrow's Dust is rly the only one I don't find myself going back to but I can already tell that's a grower

That's what I was thinking too. Sounds like a mix between In Rainbos and TKOL

Posthumous Forgiveness is good but as someone said, a momentum killer for the album’s flow. The five tracks right after it are fantastic.
Album is wonderfully breezy, tropical, and summery. I’m in northern Australia atm so it’s the perfect setting.
It Might Be Time swapped with Patience would indeed make the album even better.
Sowing if you read this ya gotta hear Currents, this is like an offshoot of that sound.

I do dig this

I think this is far more consistent from top to bottom than Currents but it lacks some of the big hitters like Let it Happen.

I'm definitely diggin - first spin through felt a bit samey, but once you get used to what's happening, it's a really cool album. I'm one of the people that preferred the first two albums (but still loved) over Currents, and this shares more DNA with Currents, but is definitely its own outing.

I think early on, I'm actually enjoying the second half more than the first

One More Hour reminds me STRONGLY of “A Day in the Life” by the Beatles, Particularly the powerful riff leading into the transition into Paul’s part of the song.
And then the ending is totally Enya LMAO

Haha I can see what you mean. It's a pretty great closer...my early takeaways are that this is a less scattered album than Currents for sure. He's definitely still delivering on the tranquil, hypnotic beats, but with a bit more honed in, warmer songwriting approach.

This is the first Tame Impala album where I've loved every song. Usually there are songs where I lose my interest (or in the case of Past Life, completely skip), but on The Slow Rush I'm always looking forward to the next stretch. Viewed as a whole, I feel like it's his best and most engaging work, even if individually nothing quite reaches the heights of Let It Happen.

listened to the first half of this and was pretty underwhelmed. dug the primal scream worship of 'one more year' though.

This is exceeding my expectations by quite a bit so far. I should know better than to bet against the talent involved.
Edit: Just finished and this is gorgeous. There's merit to the argument that parts of this are a little samey/padded, but I think that's always been true of TI (aside from Currents, which I haven't heard). The peaks here are jaw-dropping though, and this might be the most consistent release from TI. Gonna go with a strong 3.5 for now - it's absolutely great. Could grow beyond that.

I'm enjoying this quite a bit. "Breathe Deeper" and "Is it True" are my personal favorites here.

On Track feels so warm and personal not sure why
Can't even pick a favorite song yet, seems like the peaks are scattered throughout bits and pieces of every song rather than in a specific set of identifiable tracks. The whole thing just flows together like one wondrous experience.
