Slow on this. Very nice album, simple effective grooves, great vibe.

Bumped to a 4.5, this earned it. Tied with Starmaker for my AOTY as Q1 comes to a close.

How long until they start cranking out a bunch of disgusting cash grab releases like they did with Lily Peep and X with this guy

prob never because mac had been around way longer, and according to collaborators, legitimately had a multitude of projects already in their final stages essentially, both because of his absolutely unfathomable work ethic + his sense of mortality and the fact that he knew he would probably overdose (see Faces or "Perfect Circle/Godspeed")

but not to be that guy,,, but peep's releases are like diamonds compared to the horseshit x has put out both pre-death and posthumously.

Shit they even exploited the hell out of Michael Jackson and he'd been around for like ever lmao

true but that's such a unique case of an artist's untimely death comparatively, you're comparing like Earl Sweatshirt to like Prince or Elvis or some shit

couple more songs from the sessions for this/Swimming have leaked (Empires and Came Alone), so we now have a reasonable idea what the third album Jon Brion mentioned would have sounded like and 3-4 songs that would have been on it. the potential breaks my heart man

Genuinely miss this guy almost every day, don't even know why his death has affected me so much more than any other celebrity

Anyways I really need to listen to all these loosies

I can drop a guide if you want because there is a metric fuckton of leaks, like ranging from 2009 to 2018 and every album session basically
