I guess the music itself is pretty upbeat, if you had it playing in the background at a pub where people weren’t focusing on David’s words you wouldn’t pick it for being sad stuff let alone a suicide note which in a way makes it more unsettling

Yeah it’s probably the most depressing album I can think of. I think you’ll dig Silver Jews. I started with this one too, and I found it pretty moving to go back and listen to David without his death hanging over everything (although one album was written following a suicide attempt).
