Lmao! Well put I guess...both albums are on the just OK ground I guess...although maybe this a bit fresher..both should touch the makeup nonetheless

This is the Bjork 'Utopia' of 2019 - we can all stop pretending to find it in any way interesting as soon as the bells chime for 2020
Not long

And I was just getting to the point of finally checking Utopia dammit Doof

She will definitely release experimental slush like Utopia later in her career, this ain’t it. There's nothing on Utopia with the pop structuring and immediacy of "Fallen Alien", "Holy Terrain", "Sad Day", "Cellophane" etc. It's unfair to compare it to that record.
If you tossed this album in the garbage disposal it would sound like Utopia. It's sparse and elegant as it is.

I never liked this. At least Björk can sing

It has some of that shared Arca style, bit of a low blow I'll admit comparing them but like 'Utopia' I just see this as one that won't get bumped down the line.
You get albums that increase the excitement around an artist long term...and then you get ones that dull that feeling. I think both are in the latter category.
Saying that I actually prefer this album to her earlier style, 'Cellophane' is decent.

I do think this is quite great but I will admit it’s a bit of a “respect more than like” deal for me.

I'm gonna say the M-word

I don’t really get the comparison to Utopia, this has more engaging material. Utopia was like a meandering aimless dreamscape during an animal safari. It was pretty, but hard to enjoy.

Appreciate the Utopia comparison as Bork is the only pop star comparatively irredeemable at experimentation.

Lay off Bjork Pots, she may have produced some irredeemable nonsense, but her best stuff is gold standard. I know you don’t like her though, I just wanted to clarify after making an unfavourable comparison.

The problem with Bjork is her best stuff fits on one disc - but she's released 76 albums

Slight exaggeration Doof, ha.

Yes but VERY slight. Probably 2 discs.

I love her first 4 plus the majority of Biophilla & Vulincura tbh.
