I think alex is still in that band eyewash and it's 'okay' gaze alt-rock, but my issue with them and hazing over is they just sound like nostalgia-core. i mean there isn't anything wrong with trying to sound like old bands, but Shin Guard were bringing something unique to the table.
i can't think of a single band that fills the whole they left

I’m sure you’ll dig it man, just don’t go into expecting it to be like Children of the Moon. This thing is sloppy, vicious, and just downright fucking hateful at times. And I love every second of it. Kennedy and 2007 are straight up two of my favorite songs ever.
Don’t sleep on their debut or their split with For Your Health either! Debut is a lot more emo, way more melodic but still very solid, the split is basically just more of this. Honestly if I found out they were recorded at the same time I wouldn’t be shocked at all
