Man Waiting For You is already tremendously important to me, the lyrics are heartwrenching

I find the end really annoying. Song's too saccharine for my liking.

I listened to this in a hotel room in Sarajevo having only discovered it was being released 50 minutes before the YouTube stream started. I was a little disappointed at the time - it almost seemed like one long (mostly spoken word) composition with Nick's obscure loquaciousness dominating. But now the subtle melodies, weirdly futuristic electronics, inventive structures, atmospheric repetitiveness and unique poetry has completely conquered me. Right now I'm not sure I've ever heard an album that I think is this perfect. Time, no doubt, will reset my perspective, but this is so clearly the album of year that nothing else need bother.

Waiting For You isn't bad by any means, but I think it's my least favorite here. Bright Horses, Sun Forest, and Leviathan are my faves.
I get the fan disconnect between these albums and the Seeds records from the past, but it's kinda wild to me when people call the last few albums bland and uninspired, or just Nick wankery, cause the past few records seem to hold some of the most personally meaningful songs for him in the whole discography.

Usually stuff like this starts day one as a 4.4 and then goes down to a 3.8
this started at like a 3.6 and now it's a 4.2, short but still weird

'Bright Horses' is beautiful.

Can’t wait to check this, Skeleton Tree was incredible.

"I can hear the whistle blowing, I can hear the mighty roar
I can hear the horses prancing in the pastures of the Lord
Oh the train is coming, and I'm standing here to see
And it's bringing my baby right back to me"
The way this verse is sung gives me chills every time.

4. Sun Forest (4.8/5)
5. The Spinning Song (4.7/5)
6. Galleon Ship (4.6/5)

Yeah this is gorgeous but idk, it's not quite as immediate for me as Skeleton Tree. Gonna have to give this a couple more listens
