In Cauda Venenum is a pretty cool band. Had to do a double take when I saw the album title

Great review. I definitely agree about this being the best since Heritage. I just haven't managed to get into one of their pure prog albums yet. It might sound odd to say, but they were catchier during their death metal phase.

I always found their new prog era pretty limp. Although I enjoyed many parts of pale communion

best since Watershed I'd say. maybe better as an album than that but doesn't have equal highs. this is excellent tho

Renewed inspiration makes Opeth’s latest their best since...Ghost Reveries. There, I fixed it.

Cause until Opeth sounds like they did in the mid-00s people will find something to complain about no matter what

only oversinging on this is Universal Truth to me, which happens to be the worst song but it's still pretty good. he sounds great otherwise

I love reviews like this where the summary is "buttfuck inspiration or whatever inspires band's best album since middling as fuck album only two or three albums ago in their discography"

I actually felt relief when I heard this for the first time, because I was kinda nervous, but fortunately Mikael and company delivered. I am one happy motherfucker.

I wanted to listen to this this morning, but unfortunately when the vocals kicked in I realized I downloaded the english version (Spotify). The swedish one shall be my first real impression. The intro track is pretty nice though
