I honestly don't get how you can prefer California over any of their records

But just some food for thought, too, if you'll have it:

Yes.

if that's food for thought I'm starving to death

but really, this is such an improvement over California, to an almost hilarious amount, I can't imagine myself listening to anything off that album except Cynical and San Diego for the next.... ever

Have you heard the bonus track Out of My Head? I liked it more than most of the album.

Heck yeah onion. Always glad when we agree about an Alkaline Trio album. We just need Dan and Tom to join and really have a supergroup.

Out of My Head is good but there's better b-sides coming I'm fairly confident. it def sounds unfinished/from the scrapped album

I’ll always say the s/t is their Magnum Opus. After listening to this a couple of times, I’m willing to give them a chance to shed the old image a lot of people, including myself still have of them. Face it, Matt is no Tom, so we should expect something that doesnt sound like Tom. I’m sure I’ll bump this up with a few more listens, but for now, I see this band again with new eyes.

Nine is a strong 2.5 for me. I usually only 3 albums that I will return to and I don't see myself returning to this unless I'm doing a full discography run.

Yeah singles had me uninterested but the record is surprisingly good. Much better then California and best since self titled by a mile. Really enjoying this so far.

This is not better than Dogs Eating Dogs, which is some of their best work. And I personally prefer Neighborhoods to this as well, but can see why someone would like this more.

Am I the only one who absolutely loves Dogs Eating Dogs? 4.5 for me.

DED is two great songs, two okay ones and legitimately the worst ever blink song for me. so I don't love it but it certainly had potential

honestly get a producer who can keep Tom and Mark in the same room, pick out the 13 best songs between Neighborhoods and Dogs Eating Dogs, you've got one killer release
