Not a bad song btu indeed, kinda forgettable

Ironically that's the one they chose to make the music video for, lol

Then again, that was probably a good move. Most bands make music videos for the songs they considered to be the best on the album, so it's usually all downhill from there for the listener

Not so in this case

Neverbloom is ridden with shit songwriting and excessive breakdowns if I remember it well, it was rather hard to enjoy

"I obviously like one more than the other but to try and compare them shows absolute lack of musical knowledge. Its stupid all the way...Im just catching these exo comparisons on too many threads"

Thank you D.

"Comparisons to exoplanet are weird, this is very different music overall "

agreed 100%

and yes, if you calling this MDM you're not hurting anyone, only track that probably falls out of that category is the 10min long instrumental.

"@Pika: guess I shouldn’t check ‘Discovery’ based on my opinion of the other two then."

Demon I had never listened to it before and gave it a couple of spins yesterday...

It's not bad at all, and closer to exoplanet, so yeah let it be, not your cup of tea.

All Dimmu Borgir is poor man's Dimmu Borgir, to be honest.

i 100% get why people are disliking this or calling it generic. the choral stuff and orchestration is super cheesy and the cleans aren't my thing at all, but i'm loving everything else about it so far.

yeah same

the cheesiness is right up my alley, and the riffs aren't bad either. vocals are neither a strong nor a weak point so looking at least a 4

I think it's still a bit trope-reliant for my tastes. But it's fun as hell and probably the best deathcore I've heard in a hot minute.

Is this really considered deathcore? Because I only hear symphonic death metal so far.

Suppose it doesn't matter much at this point, I'd say deathcore/death metal/melodic death metal all fit the bill.

This album is a hard 4 for me. If it didn't have Mystic Abyss would probably be lower for me tbh. I just don't dig the vocals shifting all over and the speed screaming.

This was a tedious listen, if not completely boring. Yeah everyone is proficient at their instruments and the production is good, but god the content was just...average - from the lyrics to the sound itself. There's nothing here that would draw me back for another listen.
