True, but it's also painfully vanilla. If offered the chance to hear something that was either overwhelmingly good, or completely awful, then I'd take the opportunity to find out over a guaranteed 3/5 - I'm sure most would.

P.S. I'm not saying I can actually tell what this will end up being before checking it.

I'll jam that, Lexi, their earlier stuff seems more worthwhile.

Would they even be able to remember all of the songs?

Yeah this sucks, I was expecting a little more innovation from a band who apparently turn their hand to many genres. This is just basic.

It's largely what convinced me to give this as low a score as I did.

Still curious how I'd rank this. We'll find out in the weekend probably... Exciting times!

I absolutely love this. I'd only heard a couple of King Giz songs before -- a bit of Mind Fuzz and Quarters and some other stuff. Really only jammed Work This Time, and that was it. But I really adore this album, I've listened to it back to front a silly number of times. It's just incredibly fun. I can't really argue with the criticisms of the album, but it just works for me. Will definitely have to go back and give their other stuff a serious listen now.

this, Nonagon Infinity, and I'm In Your Mind Fuzz are the only Gizz releases I've heard that I can sit through and enjoy front to back at present.

I kinda like Polygondwanaland and Flying Microtonal Banana but as a whole they don't do all that much for me. Murder of the Universe's whole first chapter ("Altered Beast") is kinda lame though.

on the other hand, it's been a while so maybe they're due for more thorough listens when the new Tropical Fuck Storm and Oh Sees albums stop being so damn good.
