I stumbled upon a podcast interview w/ Nabil from last year that someone did ("sunny sunny show" if you want to look it up) where he gives a little bit more insight on this album and his time in the band. Apparently he was already pretty worn out from touring and ready to be done with the band at the time when Epitaph rejected this album, so that was just the straw that broke the camel's back. He also said that writing this album was diffucult because he didn't have much passion for the genre anymore, and his general attitude toward the album in the interview made it seem like he doesn't care for it.



He also works as a professional colorist in Hollywood now. I was hoping the podcast host would ask if he had written any music in the last ten years, but it seemed pretty evident that he had just been focusing on his career since leaving the band.

The lore behind this album is still so crazy to me, I can't believe this was just like locked up for so long and they couldn't do anything about it
