I guess there’s not much point to this post and I’m not a fan of the band at all, but I was just walking down the street beside Deryck and his girlfriend (wife?). Dude was power walking and she seemed to be struggling to keep up lol. This is in Sherman Oaks btw. Looks like he lives in my neighborhood, unbeknownst to me.
Thought some fans would be interested in hearing.

That sounds hysterical. A tiny little munchkin man outpacing a giant of a woman lol

Haha, that is kinda what it was. He was hustling down Noble to Ventura (residential to Ventura Blvd, main thoroughfare in the Valley, tons of famous shops/restaurants). He had his little sissy hat on of course. I checked and They apparently played LA earlier this month. They’re currently on a 8-9 day break before hitting a Canada tour. He was skinny as fuck, but looked so, SOOOO much better than he did when he was binging. Despite me pretty much hating their music, I’m still cheering him on to prevail over his alcohol addiction — I’ve been there and know how hard it is.

I'm super happy that he's managed to maintain his health and turn his life around. He legit looked like he was going to die at any moment.
Why the hate for their music though? They were great until Brownsound left and they're just now starting to climb their way back up to making solid music again.

well joy for dude's personal success aside, this is butt rock man
on a musical level it's a bit hard to feel like the band has any integrity, like this is hometown rural rock station music at its finest. formulaic, spineless, nothin to say, this band has no purpose other than being a quick cash grab from impressionable music fans

I think they have some buttrock tendencies but Infected and Chuck are awesome and I will defend those albums forever. Your last sentence feels unfair to me in regards to their early career but those things absolutely appy to Underclass onwards.

They were fun and interesting when they first came around. Chuck was a fairly diverse album (for them specifically, anyway), too, even if they were possibly wearing their influences on their sleeves for the sound they were going for.
But yeah, I haven't been interested in anything post Chuck, including this, which I associate with their guitarist leaving.

Buttrock? Lol

I love Chuck. Trying to get into this but I really don't like the way he sings now.
I don't know if it's filters or whatever the fuck it is. He sounds awful. Want that puck sounding raspy voice.

Chuck is comfortably their best. I don't see why anyone would bother with anything they've released after it though

Hey Pika. Back me up on the vocals being shit here.
It's not that they are bad. It's just way too clean and that's weird.

They are just overprocessed. You can hear it especially on the new sensation

Yeah everything after Chuck is lame

This is at least better than the last three albums. If they stay focused enough they might go out on a good note for their final release.
