The inner machinations of my mind are an enigma. Plus there's not much to be gained by paying my sarcasm any heed. Worry not, friend

your words are cutting. you're quite a verbal butcher, boy

decent record but i think some of the tracks sound a little too generic melodically to keep be interested the whole way through. some of the tracks use like, the most predictable imaginable chord progressions and it gets a little distracting.
i do like this more than panihida though. i thought that album was really messy tbh. this is at least a coherent effort. i do find it odd that one of the reasons that the other dude didn't want to release a record yet is because he didn't want to rush an album and in response to this he then releases a rushed record and i honestly think people are just looking at it with rose tinted glasses because they're taking his side in the debate.

I have an uneasy feeling that Panihida was rushed, because the guy was under a lot of pressure. As Fantano said (paraphrasing): "I can't imagine you can make a well-produced record with all the stuff happening as it did around you." I see why he needed to release Panihida early and I see that he may not have had the budget for a good production or many session musicians, but its messiness was ultimately its greatest downfall for me.

yeah but as i understand it the last album was also recorded at his home studio. ultimately what it needed was more time, honestly, the statement the album made would have been all the stronger for it.

Polunosznica has a strong Anaal Nathrakh vibe

No opinion on the split but really, this album's production sounds lacking. Almost gives off Rotting Christ's "Rituals" vibes too. Gets repetitive after a while.

Production of Rituals is great though

Why does this have such an insanely low rating?
|

cause people choose side-picking over subjective opinion

Because it sucks balls. The last album’s main strengths were atmosphere and mystery while this is the paint by numbers cargo cult ripoff. Panhilda isn’t great either though.

This album was something actually. Thought it would be slightly better, but it's a decent record after all. STILL, i couldn't feel the Batushka atmosphere i felt before while listening to Litourgiya.

Everyone here should just listen to the last Thy Darkened Shade album and forget about this band (:

This album - and Sam Cooke's Live At The Harlem Square - have been my soundtrack for the week, and it's been a killer week! I do wish this album had a little more of the first album's atmosphere, but it still rocks hard.

Someone is gonna have to explain why this has a 1.9 avg
I love it

Just a controversy regarding who owns this project.
