First spin on vinyl sounds so good. Love the minimalist tone this carries throughout, and absolutely agree that this is the best version of bad books thus far.

there is this small part of me that gets sad seeing these two names partnered up and wondering if there could've been a third.

This was a bit sleepy for me, so I'll have to listen to it again when I can pay more attention. BUT, UFO and the closer were really good. UFO is really really really good.

Nbehre, I love that you love this. Just feels right.
Also, glad I'm not the only one obsessing over UFO

There were people on the BN subreddit claiming Neighbors is about Jesse but I think that's a stretch
Considering Devine's lyrics have always had a political bend I'm assuming it's about a hate crime

Haha Sowing it definitely feels right. Army is just something else and the rest is sure to sink in even more as well. I feel like I did the first time I heard "Black Mile..." or "Simple Math" in a way, in that there's something special about it that resonated with me right away.

me too
usually the stuff that others need time with clicks with me immediately and then when they think it should be immediate it has to grow on me forever lol

Haha yeah I feel the same way for a lot of music, I think it may just be a familiarity with liking a lot of deep music and knowing what I'm going in for. Who knows? Haha I dig it either way!

Sow - some of the early highlight for me were "Wheel Well," "Myths....," "Lake House," and "Army."

I love every song so much it's hard for me to even prioritize certain ones lol. With that said Wheel Well, UFO, Lake House, Supposed to Be, and Army are prob my favorites of the faves (yes, I realize that's 50% of the album). Myths Made Plain is right there too. OK 60%.

Andy Hull is a genius guys. If someone hacked his minidisk archive that's something I'd drop my bank account on in a heartbeat to hear. If songs like 'I Know How to Speak' are b-side material then you know he's hoarding all kinds of gold.
