I Can't Feel You could literally be a Slowdive song. It's perfect.

first time listening to an AF LP and while I haven't dived into lyrics or anything yet, there are some gorgeous soundscapes here. The part of Every Wave to Ever Rise with the female vox is just beautiful

This is about 50% post rock with the rest split between dream pop and emo imo

Mike Kinsella's vocals have improved so much since AF1. Honestly couldn't stand his singing on their debut.

They’ve totally improved though. He can actually control his voice now.

“Life Support” giving me “Let Down” vibes.

Agreed. At this point my main problem with this is that I can get 80% of the same fix as a full listen from the first 2 minutes of the t/t on Red Sparowes' At the Soundless Dawn alone

Where do I begin, I’m just astonished how beautiful textured airy this record is, it’s flow is unreal the musicianship/production is out of this world something about this record that makes me want to just keep playing it, it’s almost subconscious. I followed AF for years at was hoping for a comeback but afraid it could tarnish the band, but this record much better then LP2 which wasn’t even that bad.
This album will age gracefully and is very close to LP1 in the sense of the feeling it processes, can’t wait to see American Football this spring live.

For the longest time I couldn't decide if this was glossy mediocrity or atmospheric mastery; for those wondering, "Heir Apparent" is what tipped the scales to the latter.
