Awesome review! I haven't found many other people who had heard of this album, so I was going to review it to get it out there, but you nailed everything so perfectly I couldn't top it. Keep it up!

Wow....I just heard one of the new songs... 'Welcome Home' off cobaltandcalcium.com and I have to say it's one the the best songs I've heard for a long time. Really epic, awesome guitar.

Claudio was being a bit of a whore of the harmonics on there :P but it still sounds really good. Hopefully the rest of the album will be as good...

I think this album is great, with a variety of songs that range from pop-punk, to sorta of hardcore metal at times. Coheed is a great band with talent, they don't just play power chords and have simple melodies. I'm really looking forward to their new CD in September, and I have very high hopes after hearing Welcome Home off of their homepage.

Just heard "Welcome Home," and while I might regret obsessing like a fanboy later, it is the most excited I've been in a d.amn long while. I'm stoked for Good Apollo.

Myeh. That song (if it's the one on the radio) is just a mix of "Blood Red Summer" and the outro from "A Mark Cut in the March of Man" (or whatever it's called).

The one that sounds like Led Zeppelin is cooler.

that new song is... It's a great song, but I don't think it's at all suited to Claudio's vocals.

and the title of the new album is flat out BIZARRE. I hate when bands do crap like that. For the love of god, what the hell is it?

Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV or something? How retarded is that? I just hope the music's still as good as the album reviewed here.

To be complete and precise, the new album is titled:

Good Apollo, I'm burning star IV

Volume 1: From Fear through the eyes of Madness

Even if I saw it already at the store, I will ask the folks there just for fun when it comes out here in two weeks. I bet they will be all

unfortunately the CD leaked already, I've heard the whole CD, there are some great tracks, but none of them are like Welcome Home(I thought the whole CD would be sort of like it, just as heavy), they are most towards the suffering type of music. Very catchy songs in all. The Willing Well III - Apollo I The Telling Truth is probably the best song on the album, starts out with a cool electronic intro and then it just gets REALLY good. There are 2 acoustic/slow songs on the CD. The intro is the one from the end of SSTB.

Oh if anyone didn't realize this,

If you don't believe me, I'll give you some lyrics " woah oh woah oh, tonight, good night, I'm burning star 4, and i dont even think of you, no I don't want to think of you anymore. goodnight, tonight, goodbye"

Everyone who has halfway serious gathered information on Co&Ca knows that the story is divided into four parts. Of course there's more to come.

That was a superb review. Are these guys pop-punk or prog? I've heard both, but to me those two genres are pretty much opposites.

I'd have to say it's a split between them.

Too tough cause there's elements of both and some other stuff to.

Coheed and cambria are the best band of this generation in my opinion. All there albums are quality and are of an equally high level. This album has 3 of my favorite tracks by them on it. TL&TG, The crowing, IKS.
