Spinning it now and don't find it offensively bad, I'm just asking why? This just feels like basic new age with silly vocals. Very odd release from a black metal band lol

It's definitely a confusing move lol
I think it's a fun little album, but hope it doesn't mean they're abandoning Uada. Superchi is resurrecting Serpent Lord with an album later this month, one of his side projects from the early 00s. Dude seems to shift around projects, and starting to remaster previous releases seemed to be the kiss of death for Ceremonial Castings, and Uada is remastering their debut for release this summer.

Vox remind me of Bowie at times even lol
Hadn't heard of Ceremonial Castings but looks really interesting! Gonna have to check them out

They're rad as hell! I've been deep diving on them and related projects over the past few months, so I'm steeped in the lore lmao
But they're good, Ceremonial Castings was with both the Superchi brothers. Into the Black Forest of Witchery is probably my favorite album by them, but Salem has insane levels of vibes. They mostly quit that project though when Uada started, except for endlessly remastering and rerecording their past albums. That's why seeing Uada start doing the same thing is giving me a bit of pause.

I've only heard Ceremonial Castings' debut so far, but it rips insanely hard.

Salem and Cthulhu are great too! You guys should check out Serpent Lords' Order of the Snake too. It rips hard, and is a major bummer it's not for sale somewhere imo.
