Never listened to this band before and they’re probably not my thing but I’m going to have to try this just because of the overwhelmingly positive reception. This is a seriously stacked week for music!

For some reason I had the sudden urge to catch up on new releases & that seems to have coincided with loads of additional stuff coming out, lots of work to do before the year is done.

This was so fucking great. I listened to it running in the dark and I was anxious the whole time.

Damn! Just finished the first song and it already got me. Sick shit. City Song reminds me a lot of Downward Spiral - era NIN.

Honestly surprised this is only a 4.1. I figured it would be higher.

I can see this being divisive, wouldn't expect a higher average. I know Sputnik is super lenient with the averages but 4.1 should be seen as almost overwhelmingly positive.

These guys are also a weird style, I wouldn't recommend it for everyone.

This...was intense. It's like being in a psychiatric asylum in the early 20th century where totally psychotic people were used for fucked up experiments...sheesh...

City Song and The Flammable Man slap so goddamn hard.

Maybe the noisy atmosphere is slowly making me go insane but this album does have a lot of subtle Melody and groove. 'Less sex' and 'daughters' have pretty accessible melodies relatively speaking. I hadn't listened to this band since Canada and Hell Songs but I'm glad they've tweaked there style a little.

The Flammable Man is one of the most insane things I’ve ever heard. Blew my mind to smithereens lol

Would be better with no vocals.

The vox are sort of just 'there' but I guess they aren't intrusive enough to detract from everything else.

Well this is the first time I've fully embraced the vocal style with them immediately. Even though I appreciated what they were going for on hell songs it just never fully worked for me. I'm enjoying this enough that I'm definitely gonna go back and listen to Hell songs and self titled again.
