I just finished listening to it for the 2nd time. Excellent album, they increased the use of dissonant arpeggios, resulting in a more atmospheric and less heavy sound. Although I still think "The Satanist" and "Demigod" are their best, I find this a solid and inspired follow up to the previous release.

That’s why I usually never jam singles and wait until the album is released. Can be misleading in certain situations.

I always jam singles just to see what can be expected but I never immediately say it's going to showcase everything in an album. Sure, it can make me worry if they suck (aka new Unearth has me worried with their singles) but I always wait for the rest of the album to judge anyway. Unless the singles are truly something awful, I won't get too bothered regardless. As always, there's some songs so bad and a direction a band is taking that you can tell will be bad sometimes.

I do that once in a blue moon but only if the singles are truly beyond terrible which thankfully doesn't happen often much at all for bands I like.

I'm kinda hoping it grows on me cause nothing jostled the adrenal glands quite like the satanist but we'll see

It never comes close to the ferocity of the Satanist but is more memorable imo.

Ye that song is catchy as fook but most the album is just a flurry of riffs, which is fine tbh.

Works better in the context of the album but is easily the worst track here.

Good write up!! Receiving a compliment on your writing albeit you're trying to sell that Behemoth is not cheesy is not an easy feat to achieve... but the review really intrigued me to listen to this.

Lukily the cheese with these guys was always less intense in the music itself than it was in images and song titles. Behemoth might b the only band where it is an asset to have an anonymous treaminstead of a physical copy with pictures and all...
