When I saw them live last summer I overheard a conversation between two middle-age men with ponytails wearing Birkenstocks about how badass the bassist was if that tells you anything.

I was rocking my Demigod 2004 tour shirt the other day at the grocery store and some old dude with long white hair and sandals came up to me and was like, BEHEMOTH m/ and did the metal horns right in my face. It made my day

It’s in the upper tier of their work tbh, 1.5 this is not.

I guess I'm mostly indifferent with Behemoth, it's an ok album. I liked The Satanist more tho

It’s not even close.

I can't believe I'm siding with Cas on this. The vocals are too high in the mix, the guitar tone is terrible, and the songwriting just isn't there. This is Behemoth at their most contrived and uninteresting.

This is easily their top 3, and the only album I can say is definitely better than this is The Satanist (but that's just first impression, bound to change)

"everything is mixed fine lmao"
Yeah, i thought the mix was a bit shaky in the music videos (not bad, just a bit muffled) but having heard the final record through good headphones, it was probably just youtube compression, the album is mixed great.

didn't expect this album to be the hot topic of discussion today but I'll take it m/

The guitars get slightly buried in God=Dog on the main verse riff.
Other than that it sounds fine.

the mix for the satanist was pretty much the perfect mix for what they were going for with their style.

Inferno rules, as always, but it's probably the album where he goes most unnoticed

Some neat little fills here and there but yeah, he’s far more restrained here.

Behemoth are one of the biggest metal bands in the world right now?

Restrained, but in a good way, he basically drives each track, everything in its right place. But yeah, that kind of stuff isn't really immediately noticeable.
