Give it a shot I guess, but I wouldn’t say they’re hugely different. I think some people have said they like this more

This feels a slight bit heavier in parts than Target Earth imo

Experimentation is welcome, but imo orchestral elements subtract from instead of adding up to the band's style.

Tbh I wouldn’t want an album like that, but as a one-off thing it’s pretty neat. I agree that I don’t really like hearing strings in their albums all that much

^Agreed.

I didn't fancy whatever orchestral parts were placed within The Wake.

Waiting to see the band live with support acts being Stereo Animal (highly recommended!) and Sacral Rage.

Concert was supposed to begin at 21.00 Athens Greece time, but the gig is still in soundcheck status... We are taking our time in Greece when it comes to metal concerts haha...

More importantly, why does a staff reviewer with the username Voivod have a wrong rating for this album?

Just returned from the concert, it was “once in a lifetime” experience.

They played “The Unknown Knows” and “Into My Hypercube”(!!!) from Nothingface with their tech thrash sound and breathed new life into both tracks.

They didn’t play “Tribal Convictions”, not even in the encore which was “Voivod” devoted to Piggy (RIP).

Songs from The Wake did not bode well with the rest of the material imho.

Excellent players, all of them, the (not so) new (anymore) guys rock!

^^Nothing unfortunately, they didn’t play anything from the albums The Outer Limits - Infini, as well as Rrrroooaaarrr.

It’s difficult to choose a setlist from such a vast and varied discography, as I wrote earlier, they didn’t even play «Tribal Convictions»

Cheers Voivod.

They are very good live, I plan to see them again in November.

Last 2 times I saw them they played "The Lost Machine", which blew my mind.

Voivod, can we at least agree that Target Earth is better than this?
