Hurricane is a classic Thrice song. Black Honey and The Window are the other hightlights, but other than that, there's almost nothing to sing about on that album tbh.

Beyond The Pines is their best song since Anthology. Hurricane would be close to top 10 Thrice for me tho

M/M is more technical and generally better than TBEitBN or this. TBE... is better than this though. Hurricane, The Long Defeat/Seneca, and Death from Above are among my favorite Thrice songs. The Window, Black Honey, and Salt and Shadow are very good too. The highlights on here wouldn't even make my top 30 favorite Thrice songs, maybe even top 50. Half of this is really great though, but the radio rock side of this doesn't really do it for me, even if the band aren't bad at it. The lyrics have taken a step down too, as some have mentioned.

"Damn is it now cool to hate M/M because it received so much praise back then? "

I listened to a few songs from this last night and I didn't dig it very much. I think i'll need to sit on it a while longer to be sure. No rating yet.

Leland: Thrice is one of those bands I used to love a lot in high school and now, a decade later, think is pretty weak on the whole.

I really want to like this based off my enjoyment of Thrice's best albums but it's sooooo weaksauce
|
| |
update: vheissus pretty rad, gotta hear it more but really cool songs; like moth to flames and hold fast hope are current favorites

Major/Minor is easily the best thing they've ever written. Everything before Vhieesu was sub par.

2nd listen now, I agree with all those who've said this is their weakest since Identity Crisis. I've warmed and cooled on M/M and TBEITBN with time and depending on my mood, but there are songs on each of those that I wouldn't hesitate to rank among my favorite Thrice tracks. Can't think of a single song on here worthy of scratching my say, top 25 or so. Probably wider than that even.
