I really liked the beginning of the first track but the vocals feel really 'off' the way they are mixed. Also, the drummer is REALLY overplaying... The ending section was cool though

oh you're feeling filthy now? don't pause it X) please give us your feedback after you reach Chernobyl Blues. And try to take it as an experience and not just a musical one

The first track does feel the most disjointed of them all. Some sections still feel kind of out of place but when they combine the jazz and death metal to get all wierd it sounds way better, and actually makes sense.

I prefer the creepier atmospheric passages on this & the jazzier moments add a lot of personality, surprised how well that works. Those relentlessly heavy moments also serve a purpose (such as the climax in Chernobyl Blues) but ultimately it's not the reason I will return to this.

The climax in CB was really cool but it lasted too long imo. It's cool how diverse this is, but sometimes parts just don't mesh well together. I do agree with you though DotF

"The climax in CB was really cool but it lasted too long imo" its supposed to be almost unbearable...

well it doesn't really feel that way if they just keep doing it too long, it's kinda predictable to hear a blast beat + dissonance for more than a minute. Would be cool if they made it shorter and increase the volume in veeeeery small steps towards the ending. That would make it creepy af

I agree, the ending was noticeably repetitive regardless of whatever intentions they may have had.

If they cared a little more about the flow of this record I would like this so much! Now it just kinda feels disjointed and has some questionable production-decisions

The opening of CB is actually the bassist using an empty coke bottle on his bass. I didn't really grasp how good the drumming was until I was able to see him play it. Seeing stuff like this really helped me enjoy it more. The aesthetics are also cool. Music video helped with that.

Also the masks they started using for this album cycle are cool. one is the wall street bull and the guitarist has the lady liberty mask, but I'm not sure what the crown the drummer uses is supposed to represent. Seems every time I look deeper into the band I find something new to appreciate and that's why I've been enjoying it so much.

That's awesome. On a pure musical level this just has a little too many things going that leave a bad taste
