Honestly, this record isn't AMAZING, but I'd take it over the blatantly dishonest Scream Aim Fire and its attempts to assert "true metal credibility" with an audience that doesn't think they're metal to begin with.
Never mind that it's their most mature take on love and relationships yet.

Imagine thinking Scream Aim Fire is that good of a record to begin with when the band themselves will admit that it was literally meant to "prove critics wrong about them." Maybe it'd be better if they cut a minute or more off of half the tracks and went with the flow instead of worrying so much about pompous ass metal elitists.

this band was always chasing trends tbh, The Poison was trying to cash in on the emo-screamo that was popular, Scream Aim Fire on the melodic metalcore scene, then Fever/Temper Temper on the mainstream hard rock phase.
Now they're trying to cash in on the whole "atmospheric metal" movement that's pretty much been killing bands than reinventing them. Fucking idiots, when will you realize that this shit doesn't work?
