''I remember being pretty wowed by mothership at first but it had no staying power''
Same.
So far I'm pretty addicted to this tbh. I hope it becomes one of the albums that I'll listen to most during the rest of the year. Last year that album was God(damn)s of Violence.
Everything here is pretty awesome. Even Count Bassy, which was kinda meh at first, is a banger. Soooo good.

They played it too safe for my taste.

You ripped off one of Pork's avatars wtf.
Suspended in This Disaster is amazing. Vocals are pretty sweet.
Care is growing on me with each new listening. That song makes me so happy :]

tbh Midnight Crusade is still my favorite track ... this album is significantly weaker than both IG and Mothership for me.

I have zero familiarity with this band. Any recommendations?

Another exciting release from Breathe, Gavin, Breathe now featuring the droning hum and occasional beeps from being plugged into life support

What’s wrong with “playing it too safe”? Are people around here only interested in technical achievements in musicianship? I dig more complex song structures and chaotic dissonance, etc. but I also dig catchiness and fluidity. Combining some of both is just a win-win for me. I don’t get that complaint at all.
