Same here. Literally one of the first riffs I played on my hand-me-down Gibson SG

Fuck, Peart is gone and Eddie is supposedly fighting cancer again. Every day checking sputnik makes me worried about hearing the worst...

Our legends are fading away, it's a hard fact. I hope gods like Steve Harris, David Gilmour or Rob Halford will be around a little longer

that's why we must embrace every effort for new music and stop fighting them like some old, miserable bastards

if new music sounded this good, i would, new music sucks, and I try but I can only get through albums of a few bands

too many new bands stick so tight to a gene that it has no meaning anymore, I want something original, even a blend of other genres that the band members like to make something their own, instead of a cookie cutter of whatever genre they are embracing

i think new music is pretty great guys, just not new metal.. if something as good as this came out within the past decade i'd think i'd gone crazy

more to my point, since I listen to a lot of metal. I guess that is were I was coming from

it used to be what bands to you listen too, now it is what genre do you listen too, subtle but important difference

There are a ton of great new metal bands, especially in extreme metal. We have to change the chip and stop compare it with classic rock/metal. They're different creatures.

yes they are, and extreme metal gets very old quickly, IMO, fits the subgenre too neatly
