I feel like people are giving this a pass for songs like Do You Close Your Eyes, because it's Dio and Blackmore, but there is no denying a song like this isn't on par with the rest of the album imo. Same for their other albums. The classic songs are absolutely amazing and the albums are excellent overall, but I don't think any of them is a masterpiece from start to finish

For the record that’s the track I like the least, but everything else is such a jam I’m willing to forgive this minor misdemeanour.

This is probably their best album and it grew on me, so bumping this up a bit might be the right thing to do

I read that Stargazer and A Light in the Black were played at the concert from which the On Stage version of Man on the Silver Mountain comes. A concert that was professionally recorded since it was planned for a live album

Where the fuck are the master recordings of that thing and why the hell isn't there an official live version of A Light in the Black yet

I'm pissed

Was Dio rock royalty back in 76? Would have been pre-Sabbath wouldn't it. Richie Blackmore probably was tho. I guess AC/DC would have been new back then too.

Nice bump! R. Blackmore & Dio, duo of musical giants.

Need to re-dig some albums.

"Was Dio rock royalty back in 76?"

Did you know that Dio was in a boy band back in the... '50s? Check Ronnie and the Red Caps...
