A WOMAN PLAYS GUITAR IN THIS BAND NOW

someone missed a few Propagandhi lyrics over the years, huh?

Finally got around to listening to this, maybe I have to listen to it more but hardly any of these songs stick with me the way they do on Supporting Caste. It kinda just sounds like a bunch of Propagandhi riffs mashed together with Chris' political ranting over them
Still not a bad record, I just wish the songwriting was better and more memorable

Why do all you guys on the first page support caste?

It's a good record but it's definitely their weakest post-LTMR. And the band's increasing adoption of modern identity politics is pretty annoying too, the hand-wringing white guilt is kinda silly.

And? Their lyrics are significantly worse than they used to be, instead of being intelligent and insightful like usual, they're going after the low-hanging fruit and resorting to SJW slogans and crying about ypipo
|
| |
i think they know that class reductionism is bad for what they stand for; they’ve probably said a lot of what they could possibly say about capitalism itself, and are going after other things

Lyrics get quite ridiculous here, bordering on sjw nonsense. It also has a few duds like Tartuffe, Call Before You Dig and Failed Imagineer (still better than the other two). Barely any solos and only two contributions from Todd. It's also the most pop punk they've been since LTMR.
Still pretty solid, though.

Sulynn seems to be quite a shredder, but there's no riffage on this album that stacks up with the Chris/Beaver tandem, imo. Beave is a pretty distinct guitarist with his roots in prog and it shows in his playing, whereas Sulynn's style comes off more like a straight metalhead and a little less original

I'm still waiting for something new from these lads. The Todd songs ("Nigredo" and "When All Your Fears Collide") plus "Letter to a Young Anus", Lower Order (A Good Laugh)", "Comply/Resist" and "In Flagrante Delicto" are my favorites from this.
