Thinking of a Place isn't better than Desolation Row, I'll give you that.

I think it helps that I first learned to appreciate Thinking of a Place on its own rather than within the album. I don't even see it as a song, really, more as its own piece entirely.

Thinking of a Place in the middle of the album is a good fit

This is good. Still a bit mullet, babycham, white line, limo and shit suit but I can see it, feel it, dig it.

Is there a tranquil pond

Well that was a lot better than expected, I'm going to stick with it. There's definitely something going on behind the faux 80s superficiality and more importantly there's some great moments throughout the whole thing.

Its really good, its just kind of hard to get through. Also, I have monstrous ADD

Yeah it does drag on a bit but it adds to the sense of being taken somewhere 'else' I dig the dylanesque vox un'all.

I never checked out The War on Drugs album years ago when it came out but I heard a lot of hype about it.

I checked this one out and, I don't know if it was the hype, but I expected something more than what it was. Disappointed.

All sounding a bit too War on Drugs this. Almost approaching self parody.

Not to say I don't enjoy a good number of the songs it's just all a bit too full on for 60 minutes or whatever it is

yeah definitely could have been pared down. album has 2 songs i'll be adding to my best of 2017 playlist, the rest is just above average. thinking of a place is the main thing making this a 3.5

Still can't determine a single actual song on this thing but it all sounds nice so somewhere between a 3.5 and a 4

Definitely weaker than the previous two though.
