Haven't listened to this, I'm kinda afraid of it. Could be anything. Song of I was amazing though.

What about those of us who sometimes rate after one thorough listen when we feel we've taken all that can be had already? Of course it depends on the album, but in this case I really dont want to sit through this again when I've already been fully submerged in all of its' lackluster moments.

Pretty much. If there's even a slight inkling that it's enjoyable, I'll keep it and give it another listen in the future and see what the verdict is.

Rate the album you think the score deserves based on how you feel about it, no need to overthink it much beyond that. I've always felt that an attentive first listen can warrant a legit rating, unless you spaced out through half of the album or something.

There is also the proven fact that the more u listen to an album, the higher the chance you cross the twilight and end up digging it. Kind of Stockholm syndrome.

my opinion of an album usually doesn't change much with subsequent listens, unless i had an aversion to the idea they were portraying beforehand (i.e. when you're unfamiliar with techno, black metal, etc)
and yeah, there's a chance that an album might get stuck in your head even when it's not catchy or particularly enjoyable, i wouldn't give it a higher rating because of that tho
