Tbh mike shinoda claim that the main reason for this record was the creation of a more universal album and reach out other people, also both chester and specially mike were into shitty pop music, that's the reason why chester was so mad when he saw the criticism of OML. I love this band but regardless of Chester's death this album still makes me angry as fuck, I mean they should make a mashup between HT and THP with the concept of ATS, NOT THIS. Talking to myself, OML and sharp edges are decent pop rock tunes but the rest is abysmal, specially heavy, nobody can save me and sorry for now

Also THP response wasn't that bad, in fact it was very good specially compared with various efforts made by other alt rock, nu metal, post grunge and metalcore groups of the past decade, even rebellion had more than 10 million views on youtube and final masquerade has more than 50 million views and the THP across the world were full as fuck. If LP invested more time with the publicity of THP that record would have been more succesful and more known not only by a niche crowd
