album is absolute trash but i guess that was to be expected.
this is like refused but somehow even more disappointing lmao

Again this is not really like refused other than the fact it is disappointing. It's not absolute trash either, more like unmemorable. I've listened to it twice and I can't remember a single part of it. It sounds like At the Drive-in through and through the songs are just not that great.

Tilting at the univendor and torrentially cutshaw were pretty great and I really enjoy hostage stamps

tilting at the univendor is probably my favourite here. tbh i like a few of these tracks on their own. i mostly just don't like this as a complete listen.

Barely a 3.5 for me. I really fuck with some of the riffing in Torrentially Cutshaw.

incurably innocent I still think is excellent. imma see what I really think of this album on official release tomorrow; would be silly to go off the leak.

Leak quality was more than adequate to form an opinion I'd say. Also, what's with Cedric's affinity for just slapping together the most nonsense words he can think of?

it's as much about the percussive element of the lyrics. it's almost scat-like. except not. but kinda
|

yeah like that Mars Volta song - Bible and the breathalyzer... literally just a spew of words. I can't even listen to that song and I love most MV

Man, just got around listening to this, and it was what I feared. Not bad, but just not really great or memorable in any way.

This is pretty good

It's no RoC but it's still a solid record and much better than Refused's comeback record. This would be better if the production weren't so polished. A band like this sounds much better with a messy, raw production quality.

I get a strange amount of satisfaction out of seeing people dislike albums by Sputcore bands.

'Sputcore bands'
What on earth is this?
|

Bands that are unabashedly worshipped by the Sput fanbase:
Radiohead, Opeth, Brand New, and Tool being among the biggest targets

'unabashedly worshipped'
Not sure that's true of ATD-I & I've experienced worship of Raidohead/Tool outside of Sputnik, that's not a Sputnik thing.

no one said there isn't overlap in these bands between Sput and the rest of the world.. but we're on Sput, and fact remains, most people on the site will bite your head off if you don't drink the Kool-Aid.. though quality-wise for how cult-ish their fans are, Tool and Brand New are the biggest offenders..

Brand New has powerful effects on teenagers

@pjorn - yes, I'm new. RoC gets a huge amount of praise & has a lofty 4.4 average but no-one's calling their debut a masterpiece (as far as I'm aware) & opinions of ICO seem fairly balanced. I think RoC deserves all the praise it gets, honestly.
